PerioView® is an endoscopic-assisted approach to periodontal therapy that allows the periodontist and the hygienist to visualize areas beneath the gumline while performing scaling and root planing. Using specialized miniature camera technology, this technique provides magnified views of the tooth roots and periodontal pockets, helping identify and remove plaque, calculus (tartar), and bacterial deposits that contribute to gum disease.

How PerioView® Works

Traditional scaling and root planing relies primarily on tactile feedback and clinical assessment to clean below the gumline. With endoscopic assistance, the periodontist can directly visualize targeted areas during treatment, helping guide instrumentation and evaluate root surface cleanliness.

Who Can Benefit from PerioView® Treatment?

PerioView® may be appropriate for patients with periodontal pockets, persistent inflammation, or areas that are difficult to thoroughly evaluate with conventional instrumentation alone. Depending on the severity of the disease, it may be used as part of a nonsurgical periodontal treatment plan or to address selected areas that have not responded adequately to previous therapy.
